UP Lift

The Martins had lived in their home for nearly forty years. It was the kind of place where neighbors stopped by without calling, family gathered for birthdays, and the front porch became a favorite place to sit when the weather was warm. But the home's elevated front entrance had several steps, and as Mrs. Martin's mobility changed, coming and going became increasingly difficult. At first, she simply avoided going out as often. Then she started relying on family members whenever she needed to leave the house. Something as ordinary as going to an appointment, meeting a friend for lunch, or picking up a prescription began to require planning around the stairs.
